Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of Connersville Living Waters based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

God

There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise. God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

One True god

God has revealed Himself as the eternal, triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ

Fall of man

Humanity was created good but fell through sin, resulting in separation from God.
(Genesis 1:26–27; Romans 5:12–19)

Salvation

Salvation is received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.
(John 3:3; Ephesians 2:8)

The ordinances of the Church

Water baptism and Holy Communion are outward signs of inward grace.
(Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 11:26)

Baptism

Water baptism and Holy Communion are outward signs of inward grace.

Baptism in the Holy Spirit

All believers are entitled to and should seek the baptism in the Holy Spirit.
(Acts 1:4–8; Acts 2:4)

The Initial Physical Evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit

The initial evidence of Spirit baptism is speaking in other tongues.
(Acts 2:4; 1 Corinthians 12:4–10)

Sanctification

Sanctification is an ongoing process of being set apart for God. (Romans 12:1–2; 1 Thessalonians 5:23)

The Church and Its Mission

The Church is the Body of Christ, called to evangelize, worship, disciple, and show compassion.
(Ephesians 1:22–23; Matthew 28:19–20)

The Ministry

God calls and equips leaders for the purpose of building His Church. (Mark 16:15–20; Ephesians 4:11–13)

Divine Healing

Healing is provided in Christ’s atonement and is a privilege for all believers.
(Isaiah 53:4–5; James 5:14–16)

The Blessed Hope

The rapture of the Church is the blessed hope of all believers.
(1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Titus 2:13)

The Millennial Reign of Christ

Christ will return with His saints to reign on earth for a thousand years. (Revelation 20:1–6; Zechariah 14:5)

The Final Judgment

There will be a final judgment for the wicked.
(Revelation 20:11–15; Matthew 25:46)

The New Heavens and the New Earth

God will create a new heaven and a new earth where righteousness dwells.
(2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21:1–2)
